An official website and X (formerly Twitter) account opened today revealed that an original anime series set around streamers and virtual-reality games titled Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show is in the works for a planned 2025 release. A teaser trailer and visual were unveiled, along with main cast and staff members.
The visual’s tagline reads, “This world (game) is so fun, it drives me crazy!”

The Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show anime’s confirmed cast is as follows:
Miko Kurono voiced by Riho Sugiyama (Minare in Wave, Listen to Me!)
Mayu Mayusaka voiced by Manaka Iwami (Akane in Oshi no Ko)
Kanna Kagurazaka voiced by Nana Hazumi
Masato Matsune (Reign of the Seven Spellblades) directs Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show at Studio Gokumi, with a story draft and series composition by Makoto Uezu (KONOSUBA), original character designs by Jiro Suzuki (Revenger) and music by Evan Call (Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End).

The story follows Miko Kurono, who began her dream career as a livestreamer under the name “Necronomico” after graduating middle school.
Amidst spending her days with childhood friend Mayu Mayusaka and rival Kanna Kagurazaka, she’s introduced to a new VR game project!?
Upon encountering the game, the girls start pursuing the ‘irreplacable now’.
