Previously only available to stream on Netflix, Studio TRIGGER’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime is officially coming to Blu-ray. The Anime Award-winning series will be distributed in North America and Latin America through Aniplex of America.Beyond that, PLAION PICTURES and ANIME LIMITED are handling the release in Europe, Sugoi Co is releasing in Australia and New Zealand, and DEX is handling the Thailand release.More details are coming, but for now Aniplex has pre-orders up for the Japanese edition, which launches in the region on May 28, 2025.
Set in the world of R. Talsorian Games’ tabletop RPG and CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 video game, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi (Promare) at studio TRIGGER and won Anime of the Year at the 2023 Anime Awards.The series’ official website describes the story:
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells a standalone, 10-episode story about a street kid trying to survive in a technology and body modification-obsessed city of the future. Having everything to lose, he chooses to stay alive by becoming an edgerunner—a mercenary outlaw also known as a cyberpunk.
