Ahead of a January 12, 2025 broadcast debut in Japan and subsequent simulcast on Crunchyroll, the official website and accounts for the Toilet-bound Hanako-kun anime today unveiled two more Season 2 cast members, as follows:
Kako voiced by Hochu Otsuka (Hakuro in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime)
Mirai voiced by Rie Kugimiya (Happy in Fairy Tail)
Kako (meaning ‘past’)
Mirai (meaning ‘future’)
Based on the manga by Aidalro, the first season of Toilet-bound Hanako-kun was directed by Masaomi Ando at studio Lerche, with series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, character designs by Mayuka Ito and music by Hiroshi Takaki. Masaki Kitamura directed the first four episodes of the After-school Hanako-kun spin-off anime, also at studio Lerche.
Crunchyroll streams both series in a range of subs and dubs and describes the main story:
Kamome Academy is rumored to have many mysteries, the strangest of which involves the mischievous ghost of Hanako-kun. When occult-loving high schooler Nene Yashiro accidentally becomes bonded to him, she uncovers a hidden world of supernatural beings. Now the two of them are conspiring to keep the peace between student and supernatural—that is, if they can only stay out of trouble themselves.
