And we have him to thank for a cool new piece of collab art!Akio Watanabe supplied the character designs for the new eras of both long-running franchises, and he’s just released new artwork of major characters from both together. Check out this piece of Thanatos from Grisaia and Rika Furude from Higurashi, each holding an item of importance to the other:

Phantom Trigger, which continues the story of Mihama Academy from The Fruit of Grisaia of Frontwing’s Grisaia visual novel series, was released on Windows and Steam for nine chapters from 2017 to 2022. The series was previously released as six-episode OVAs with theatrical screenings and Blu-ray releases.The newest TV anime project was announced back in February 2022. It was originally scheduled for premiere in 2024, but is now scheduled to premiere in January 2025.Main voice cast members from the OVA series are confirmed to reprise their roles, including Maaya Uchida as Rena, Ayane Sakura as Tohka, Kaori Nazuka as Christina, and Atsumi Tanezaki as Murasaki. Bibury Animation works on anime production.Crunchyroll will simulcast Grisaia Phantom Trigger starting January 1, 2025.
