As we head toward the end of the year, AnimEigo parent company MediaOCD shared one final announcement for 2024. The company’s latest license is Nobody’s Boy Remi, the 51-episode TV anime by director Osamu Dezaki (Tomorrow’s Joe, Space Adventure Cobra) that originally aired from 1977-1978 in Japan. While there’s no English dub, the French dub will be included when the series launches in HD on Blu-ray in 2025. Details on the release itself are light, but it will be the first in AnimEigo’s new “Ruined Childhood” line of products. You can see the logo animation below.
Osamu Dezaki directs and Akio Sugino (Tomorrow’s Joe, Black Jack) provides character designs for Nobody’s Boy Remi, which is a TMS and Madhouse production. The series is currently available to stream via RetroCrush, which describes it like so:
In a small French village of Chavanon, an eight-year-old boy named Remi lived happily with his family even though they were very poor. One day, his father, Jerome, reveals to Remi that he was found abandoned as a baby and is not his real son.
