The Kaiju No. 8 Jump Festa 2025 stage event today revealed that the anime’s upcoming second season will begin airing in July 2025. A brand-new teaser visual depicting Gen Narumi with the tagline “Proof I’m the strongest” was also unveiled alongside the announcement.

Before the next major operation commences, a film compilation of scenes from the first season, paired with the “Hoshina’s Day Off” special episode, will release in Japanese theaters for a three-week run starting March 28, 2025. New trailers for the dual showing were also released during Jump Festa 2025, with the latter previewing a new ending song by OneRepublic titled “Invincible”.
Based on the manga by Naoya Matsumoto, Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya directed the first season of Kaiju No. 8 at studio Production I.G, with series composition by Ichiro Okouchi (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury), character designs by Tetsuya Nishio (Naruto) and music by Yuta Bando (BELLE).Crunchyroll currently streams the series in a range of subs and dubs, and will also stream the new season when it premieres next year. In a world plagued by creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in The Defense Force. He makes a promise to enlist with his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Soon, life takes them in separate ways. While employed cleaning up after Kaiju battles, Kafka meets Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s determination to join The Defense Force reawakens Kafka’s promise to join Mina and protect humanity.
