The original Fate/Prototype OVA premiered in 2011 as part of the home video release of Carnival Phantasm. The 12-minute animated project was adapted from Nasu’s first draft of the Fate story, which would be heavily reworked for the visual novel market to become Fate/stay night. The Fragments of Sky Silver prequel series is the only further adaptation of that concept.Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver Vol. 1 is now available from the Kadokawa web store.
