The official X (formerly Twitter) account for The Catcher in the Ballpark! anime today revealed the casting of Yoji Ueda (Eisen in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as Nakaizumi and Satoshi Tanaka as Omatsu. Satoshi Inomata voices Murata, Fairouz Ai voices Ruriko and Ikumi Hasegawa voices Aona in the upcoming rom-com series slated for a 2025 release.
Based on the manga by Tatsuro Suga, Junichi Kitamura (Fluffy Paradise) directs The Catcher in the Ballpark! anime at studio EMT Squared, with series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi (I Parry Everything), character designs by Fumio Iida and music by MONACA (Shangri-La Frontier).
The anime’s official website describes the story (translated):
“Am I your type, Onii-san~?”
One day at a baseball stadium, a gyaru selling beer approaches!? But she’s actually a super innocent and kind-hearted girl…♡
The setting is a pro-league baseball stadium! Many people gather there every day to work and laugh together, and human drama is born there — it’s almost like a town!
So, why not become a “resident” of that town?!
A romantic-comedy full of laughs and tears, dedicated to all those involved in professional baseball!
