The Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha continues the celebration of its 20th anniversary with an official social media post announcing the creation of Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance, a completely new work of TV animation. At the time of this reporting, no further details about the new TV anime (such as the cast, the crew or the release date) have been revealed.
A new manga titled Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS by Maki Tsuzuki and illustrated by Shuichi Kawakami was also announced, scheduled to begin in Kodansha’s Wednesday Sirius magazine in 2025.
The Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series began in 2004 with a 13-episode TV anime series, followed by additional TV anime series Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A’s in 2005, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS in 2007 and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid in 2015, as well as theatrical anime films in 2010, 2017 and 2018.Discotek Media currently releases the first series on home video in the United States, and describes the story as follows:
Nanoha Takamachi was just an ordinary third grader going to elementary school. However, one day, she met the mysterious ferret Yuuno, bearing a magical device called Raising Heart, and her fate to become a magical girl was sealed. Before long, she finds herself at odds with Fate Testarossa, a girl from another world, who fights over control of the dangerous and ancient “Jewel Seeds,” and the intervention of the Time-Space Administrative Bureau. Nanoha faces a long battle, but she doesn’t want to fight, she just wants to be friends. Can she use her magic to deliver her true intentions?
