An original TV anime entitled Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi (“The Days Go By, But the Food is Delicious”, subtitled in English with “Food For the Soul”) has been announced for broadcast in 2025. A teaser trailer, teaser art (below) and the main staff for the series has been revealed.
Shinya Kawatsura and Tohru Harumi direct the series at animation studio P.A.WORKS. Atto provides the original story and character concepts, Hajime Mitsuda provides the character designs and chief animation direction, Hiki Yoshihiro provides the series composition, and Hiromi Mizutani provides the music. Kawatsura, Atto and Mizutani had previously collaborated on Non Non Biyori.
Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi Teaser
The story of Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi follows the culinary adventures of Mako Kawai, a first year college student. Although details about the story of the series are currently sparse, the tagline on the teaser art states that “Cuteness + Deliciousness = The Ultimate Meal.” Additionally, manga author Quro (Asteroid in Love) will produce a manga adaptation for the series that will be published in Kadokawa’s Alive+ manga website beginning in 2025.
