Fermat no Ryori (“Fermat’s Cooking”), a cooking manga by Yugo Kobayashi (Aoashi), is being adapted into a newly announced anime production. A congratulatory image and comments by Kobayashi celebrating the announcement (below) as well as an official home page and social media feed have been published for the anime.
At the time of this reporting no further details (such as the cast, the staff, or the release date) have yet been revealed about the new production. Fermat no Ryori was previously adapted into a 10 episode live-action TV drama that broadcast on Tokyo Broadcasting System from October – December in 2023.
Kodansha has serialized the original Fermat no Ryori manga since September 2018 n their Monthly Shonen Magazine publication, and a total of four collected volumes have also been published in Japan. The story of the series follows Gaku Kitada, a mathematical genius who ends up giving up on his dream of becoming a mathematician only to be recruited by Kai Asakura, a mysterious and talented chef. Gaku then uses his knowledge of mathematics to create amazing new culinary recipes.
