Some like it hot… and others like it cold. Whichever way you take your romantic-comedy anime, each extreme end of the climate spectrum are united in adoration for their respective regions.
As such, following the premiere of OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She’s Saying‘s anime adaptation earlier today in Japan, Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! author Kai Ikada shared an official commemorative illustration featuring characters from both series.
The anime adaptation of Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! aired in Winter 2024 and is streaming on Crunchyroll.

Based on the web manga by Egumi Sora, Shingo Tanabe directs OKITSURA: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She’s Saying under the supervision of Shin Itagaki at studio Millepensee, with the pair also responsible for series composition. Tomohiro Yoshida provides the character designs, while Tomohisa Ishikawa, Yoshimi Katayama and Ayana Kinjo are in charge of music.

When Teruaki Nakamura transfers to laid-back Okinawa, he falls for the lively Kyan-san—but her dialect is a complete mystery to him.
