The Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) confirmed that “Eikyu hours” (“Eternal Hours”), the latest single by the Love Live! Sunshine!! series’ nine-member voice actor unit Aqours, has been certified platinum by shipping more than 250,000 copies since its release.As the theme song for their upcoming final solo concert, “Love Live! Sunshine!! Aqours Final LoveLive! ~Eikyu stage~,” Aqours released the CD single of “Eikyu hours” from Bandai Namco Music Live’s Lantis label on December 18, 2024. The single ranked No.1 in Oricon’s weekly single charts in its first week, then No.3 in its second week.The unit has had nine singles certified gold (shipping more than 100,000 copies) since their first single “Kimi no Kokoro wa Kagayaiteirukai?” in 2017, but this is the first single to reach platinum. According to Lantis’ X (formerly Twitter) post, this is also the first time in the history of the label, which launched in 1999.
As Aqours’ second live-action music video following “DREAMY COLOR” released in May 2021, the music video for “Eikyu hours” started streaming on the Love Live! franchise’s official YouTube channel on November 18, 2024. The clip has over 1.75 million views as of this reporting.
