Following Season 2’s 15th episode broadcast, the official accounts for Shangri-La Frontier unveiled a brand-new trailer and key visual for the next anime arc, titled “Miageta Sora, Hirogaru Umi, Shinen no Toshi wo Kakete”, otherwise known as the Abyss City arc, in which Sunraku will challenge another of the Seven Colossi.
Two more cast members were also announced.

Based on the manga by Ryosuke Fuji, Toshiyuki Kubooka (Handyman Saitou in Another World) directs Shangri-La Frontier at studio C2C, with series composition by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime), character designs by Ayumi Kurashima (Devilman Crybaby) and music by MONACA (NieR:Automata Ver1.1a).
