The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Tomoki Izumi’s horror manga series Mieruko-chan released a teaser trailer and visual today. The clip officially announced that the film is set to release in Japan on June 6, 2025.In the teaser trailer, the protagonist Miko Yotsuya played by Nanoka Hara (Suzume Iwato in Suzume) encounters spirits everywhere and tries to pass them off by “pretending not to see them” in her daily life. Sora Amamiya, who voiced Miko in the TV anime series, serves as the narrator.

The original Mieruko-chan manga is serialized in the ComicWalker (now KadoComi) website since 2018, releasing 11 tankobon volumes in Japan to date. It has been viewed more than 85 million times on the site, printing over three million copies in Japan. Yen Press releasing the manga in English. The TV anime adaptation of the Mieruko-chan manga aired for 12 episodes from October to December 2021. All the episodes are available on Crunchyroll, who describe the series:
