Macaroni Empitsu, who saw the film in production prior to its release, released a video commenting on the theme song “NOW LOADING.”“This is exactly what we call a romantic comedy in the Reiwa era!” said the band’s vocalist and guitarist, Hattori. “Even though we are over 30 years old, it made our hearts flutter a little. I thought it was an interesting way to develop love through a virtual opportunity via a game.””I think there is a kind of love that only your emotion is running through you deeply, but you don’t know how to tell it, or you can’t put it into words to express your feelings. The characters in the movie are clumsily searching for their feelings, which makes me feel sad and want to cheer them up at the same time. I wrote the lyrics in the hope that I could encourage their emotional subtleties through song.”

The My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 live-action movie is scheduled to release in Japan on March 28, 2025. Ryuto Sakuma (HiHi Jets memebr) is cast as the male protagonist, Akito Yamada, and Mizuki Yamashita plays the main heroine, Akane Kinoshita. Yuka Yasukawa directs the film on a screenplay by Anna Kawahara.The manga’s TV anime adaptation aired for 13 episodes from April to June 2023.
