With an anime adaptation of You and I Are Polar Opposites already in the works, it was announced today that Kocha Agasawa’s previous The Ramparts of Ice slice-of-life manga will also be adapted into a TV anime. Additional details, such as staff, cast and release date, were not confirmed at the time of writing.

The Ramparts of Ice, otherwise known in English as Ice Castle Wall, was first self-published as a webtoon before being serialized through the Line Manga app from January 2020 to April 2022. Thirteen collected volumes have since been printed by Shueisha. The series came second in AnimeJapan’s “Manga We Want To See Animated Ranking” poll in 2023.
The story follows a loner high school girl considered unapproachable due to her cold facial expressions and attitude, until she meets a boy who inexplicably tries to get close to her. When two more follow suit, their vexing but endearing youth unfolds.
