The adventures of Anpanman, the superhero with a pastry for a head from Takashi Yanase’s series of children’s picture books, will continue in Soreike! Anpanman: Chapon no Hero (“Let’s Go! Anpanman: Chapon the Hero”), the 36th film in the series. A teaser trailer and teaser art (below) have been published for the newly announced film, which will begin distribution in Japanese theaters on June 27, 2025.

The story of Soreike! Anpanman: Chapon no Hero follows Chapon, a mysterious boy who falls from the sky one day. Chapon has no memories of where he comes from, but he learns the joy of helping others from Anpanman and his friends and soon wishes to become a hero like Anpanman, whom he idolizes like an older brother.However, the villainous Baikinman knows the secret of Chapon’s origins, and arrives to cause mischief. In order to protect everyone’s smiles and happiness, Chapon teams up with Anpanman to face off against Baikinman and to determine his destiny on his own terms.
