This year, Mamoru Oshii’s bizarre, artistic OVA Angel’s Egg turns 40. Plans are already underway for special screenings in Japan and overseas, but there’s more to come—specifically, a new release of the film’s soundtrack by Yoshihiro Kanno.The soundtrack will be released in two formats: UHQCD and vinyl LP. The soundtrack consists of 14 tracks, all of which will be included in both release formats. Kanno himself oversaw the remaster of the soundtrack. Both versions will also include a reprint of the soundtrack’s original liner notes, as well as new liner notes by Kanno, sound and visual writer Hidekuni Majeima, and musician and DJ Takuya Katagiri.Angel’s Egg Music Edition: Dwelling in Water goes on sale in Japan on May 7.
