The official Girls Band Cry anime accounts announced today that the upcoming compilation movies will release later in 2025, alongside a new piece of key art. The first film, subtitled “Seishun Kyoso Kyoku”, will release in Japan on October 3, 2025. The second film, subtitled “Naa, Mirai.”, will release in Japan on November 11, 2025. The two-part compilation movie was originally announced in September last year.
Kazuo Sakai directed Girls Band Cry at animation studio Toei Animation, with Jukki Hanada providing the series composition, Nari Teshima on the character designs and Kenji Tamai as composer. The series originally broadcast in Japan from April to June 2024 with 13 episodes. Crunchyroll currently streams Girls Band Cry, and decribes it as follows:
Feeling out of place in the countryside, high school dropout Nina Iseri moves to Tokyo. After a rough first day and getting locked out of her apartment, she meets her favorite guitarist, Momoka Kawaragi. The two put on a street performance together and decide to start a band with three other girls. While each girl faces her own struggles, their passion for music keeps their dreams alive.
