In its fourth weekend of release, the advance theatrical screenings of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning-, a re-edited version of the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX TV series, earned 191 million yen (1.26 million USD) on 112,000 admissions, dropping two spots from last weekend to fourth in the weekend box office ranking, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha.The anime’s official X (formerly Twitter) reported that the screenings have built up a cumulative of 2.25 billion yen (14.83 million USD) earned from 1.382 million tickets sales after a 24-day run. The release has now surpassed the 2021 film Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway‘s total domestic gross of 2.23 billion yen (14.7 million USD). It also now ranks third in the theatrical release of the Gundam anime series, behind Mobile Suit Gundam SEED FREEDOM (2024/5.38 billion yen) and Mobile Suit Gundam III: Encounters in Space (1982/2.3 billion yen).

Gekijouban Nintama Rantaro Dokutake Ninja-tai Saikyou no Gunshi (translated to “Nintama Rantaro the Movie: The Strongest Strategist of the Dokutake Ninja Squad”) went down three spots to sixth in its eighth weekend.The live-action film adaptation of Akane Shimizu’s manga series Cells at Work! was in eighth place in its ninth weekend, down four places from last weekend. The film has sold 4.42 million tickets so far, bringing its cumulative total gross almost to 6 billion yen (39.54 million USD). The live-action film adaptation of Kengo Hanazawa’s action manga series UNDER NINJA moved down to ninth in its third weekend. Gekijouban Project Sekai Kowareta SEKAI to Utaenai MIKU (“Project Seikai the Movie: The Broken World and The Miku Who Can’t Sing”), the theatrical anime film inspired by the HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE! smartphone game, was down four places to tenth in its fourth weekend. After making a ninth-place debut last weekend, the new anime film adaptation of The Rose of Versailles, based on Riyoko Ikeda’s classic historical shojo manga, disappeared from the box office Top 10 in its second weekend.
