Five years after the last season aired, publisher Dengeki Bunko’s “Super New Year Appreciation – Winter Festival Online 2025” livestream today unveiled the electrifying announcement that a fourth anime season of A Certain Scientific Railgun is in production.The below video was released, confirming the return of Tatsuyuki Nagai (Mobile Suit GUNDAM Iron Blooded Orphans) as director at studio J.C.STAFF and main cast members Rina Sato, Satomi Arai, Aki Toyosaki and Kanae Ito. A release date was not confirmed at the time of reporting.
A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4 Announcement
Based on the spin-off light novels by Kazuma Kamachi, the first season of A Certain Scientific Railgun aired in October 2009 and was followed by sequel seasons in 2013 and 2020. All three were directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai at studio J.C.
