Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table, an upcoming TV anime based on the light novel series of the same name, has revealed the main staff for the series as well as character art (below) for Yuki, the protagonist. The series will broadcast in Japan beginning in January 2026.

The original Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table light novels are written by Yushi Ukai, illustrated by Nekometaru and published in Japan by Media Factory under their MF Bunko J imprint. Yen Press also publishes an English language version of the series. Takehiro Ueno directs the TV anime at Studio Deen. Rintarou Ueda provides the series composition, Eri Osada provides the character designs and Noriyoshi Konuma provides the sound direction.

Yuki wakes up to find herself in an unfamiliar manor, wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. Soon, she discovers five more girls, all dressed the same as her. This is the Ghost House, and the only way they can survive is to make it through the traps that lie in wait-deadly games full of blowguns, buzz saws, locked rooms, and weapons. It’s a hopeless, terrifying situation for everyone there…well, everyone except Yuki. After all, this is her career at seventeen. Do you think that’s odd? She would agree.
