Nine years after starting the series on self-publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro, BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense. author Yuumikan announced in the latest chapter release today that the story has reached its conclusion.

BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense., which currently spans 18 printed volumes, was first released in novel form by Fujimi Shobo in September 2017 before the company was folded into Kadokawa Shoten. Yen Press publishes an official English version of the light novels, along with Jiro Oimoto’s manga adaptation.
An anime series adaptation directed by Shin Onuma and produced by studio SILVER LINK. aired in January 2020, and was followed by a second season in January 2023. Crunchyroll streams both in a range of subs and dubs, describing the story like so:
