Ahead of a March 28 theatrical release in Japan, a brand-new video released for the live-action My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 film revealed that the in-game voices of Akane and Akito’s “Forest of Saver” characters, “Akane” and “Yamada”, will be played by Inori Minase and Koki Uchiyama, the rom-com pair’s cast from the 2023 anime adaptation. Ai Kakuma and Rio Tsuchiya also reprise their roles as “Rurihime” and “Tsubaki”, respectively.
In the IRL sense, Mizuki Yamashita stars as Akane and Ryuto Sakuma stars as Akito in the upcoming film directed by Yuka Yasukawa and written by Anna Kawahara.

Based on the manga by Mashiro, Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru) directed the My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 anime at studio MADHOUSE, with series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and character designs by Kunihiko Hamada (My Love Story!!).

Akane Kinoshita, a female college student, faces the absolute worst situation when she ends up breaking up with her boyfriend after he has an affair with a woman he met playing an online game.
While relieving her stress by rampaging through the open hunting grounds of an online game,
Akane spills everything about her heartbreak to “Yamada”, a player she met by chance who happens to be in the same guild.
“I don’t care,” is his curt reply.
But when Akane gets a makeover and joins an offline event to get back at her ex-boyfriend,
she hears those dreadful words again.
