Monster Hunter Wilds just dropped on February 28, and the game has already shattered a Capcom record. The latest entry in the series managed to sell eight million units around the world in three days, which is the fastest any Capcom game has hit that milestone.
The player count has been pretty impressive since launch. As of this writing and according to SteamDB, its all-time peak on Steam was three days ago at over 1.3 million concurrent players.
Monster Hunter Wilds is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Here’s how Capcom describes it:
Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest entry in the Monster Hunter series and is set in a dynamically changing world that is in one moment a severe wilderness, swarming with packs of attacking monsters, and in the next transforms into a rich natural environment teeming with life. Monster Hunter Wilds features grand, beautiful visual depictions made possible by the RE ENGINE, Capcom’s proprietary game development engine, and cross-play, allowing players to enjoy the game together regardless of their game platform.
