The official website for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of Fermat no Ryori (“Fermat’s Cooking”), a cooking-themed manga by Yugo Kobayashi (Aoashi), announced two main voice cast members today, along with their anime character visuals. Further details such as the staff and a broadcast date were not revealed at the time of reporting.
Ryosuke Tomita (Sota Higure in Sasaki and Miyano) voices Gaku Kitada, a boy who aspired to be a mathematician but was overwhelmed and frustrated by the talents of real geniuses. Taito Ban (Amane Fujimiya in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten) is cast as Kai Asakura, a young charismatic chef who runs one-star restaurant K at the young age of 23.
The two will also appear at a stage event for the anime at AnimeJapan 2025 on March 23, starting at 11:00 a.m.

Message from Ryosuke Tomita:
I’m Ryosuke Tomita and I play the role of Gaku Kitada. When I received word that I had passed the audition, I remember how happy, nervous, and more than a little excited I was to be able to play Gaku. Although he has failed in his dream of becoming a mathematician, Gaku grows as a chef with his mastery of mathematical thinking. I will do my best to play the role so that I can grow together with him. I am sure we will be able to provide you with the extreme food terrorism, so please look forward to the broadcast!

Message from Taito Ban:
I’m Taito Ban, and I will be playing the role of Kai Asakura. Kai is a key person in the story who takes an interest in Gaku when he meets him by chance and leads him to a career in cooking. Kai is a young genius chef and owner of a one-star restaurant, but his actions and comments are somewhat insane and unprecedented, and he is a harsh character who imposes difficult tasks on Gaku and forces him to face reality. Behind his madness, however, lies his core of “risking his entire life to cook,” and I feel that he has a “passion” for cooking that is many times greater than that of others. In this anime with the theme of this work is cooking and mathematics, the protagonist is Gaku, played by Tomita-kun, but I think Kai is definitely the “other protagonist.” We hope you will be able to feel the many dishes that will make you salivate, the passion the chefs put into each dish, and the solid “heat” of their creations. Please enjoy the show!
Kodansha serializes the original Fermat no Ryori manga since September 2018 in Monthly Shonen Magazine, with a total of four volumes published in Japan to date. The story of the series follows Gaku Kitada, a mathematical genius who ends up giving up on his dream of becoming a mathematician only to be recruited by Kai Asakura, a mysterious and talented chef. Gaku then uses his knowledge of mathematics to create amazing new culinary recipes.
