The official X (formerly Twitter) for the upcoming TV anime adaptation of The Holy Grail of Eris, based on Kujira Tokiwa’s fantasy light novel series, announced tow additional voice cast members today — MAO (Kirika Kokuryu in TRILLION GAME) as Lily Orlamunde and Yohei Azakami (Toshizo Hijikata in Blue Miburo) as Randolph Ulster.
The series’ official website describes Lily Orlamundeas as “A friend of Scarlett, who took her own life 2 years ago. She left behind a mysterious key and the message, ‘Destroy the Holy Grail of Eris.” Randolph Ulster is described as “Lieutenant Commander of the Royal Security Force, known as ‘His Excellency the Grim Reaper’ who is somewhat a frightening man.”
Kujira Tokiwa’s original novel series was first serialized on Shousetsuka ni Naro in 2017. Sb Creative’s GA Novel imprint released the novel’s print edition in four volumes from November 2019 to March 2022. Drecom’s DRE Novels imprint released the novel’s new edition, including a newly written fifth volume, beginning in November 2024. A manga adaptation illustrated by Hinase Momoyama began in November 2019, with 12 volumes released in Japan to date.
The TV anime project was revealed in October 2024, with the announcement of the two main voice cast members — Kana Ichinose (Fern in Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End) as Constance Grail and Sayumi Suzushiro (Nijika in BOCCHI THE ROCK!) as Scarlet Castiel. They reprise their respective roles from a prior promotional video.
A release date for the anime has not been announced at the time of reporting.
