Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback Anime Movie Gets Widest Release in 522 Theaters

The official website for Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback, the upcoming 28th feature film in the Detective Conan/Case Closed anime franchise, announced today that the film will also screen simultaneously in 55 IMAX theaters, 12 MX4D theaters, 62 4DX theaters, and 9 Dolby Cinema theaters on April 18, the day of the film's nationwide release. Combined with the regular version, the film will screen in a total of 522 theaters in Japan, which is the largest number in the history of the Detective Conan anime franchise. The franchise's previous 27th film, Case Closed: The Million-dollar Pentagram, screened in 515 theatres when it opened in Japan on April 12, 2024, so this year, even seven more theaters will be showing the Conan film than last year.

Additionally, a “Flashback visual” of Conan and other main characters wearing purple, Kogoro Mori’s personal color, in checked pattern, has been unveiled.

Detective Conan: One-eyed Flashback is set to open in Japan on April 18, 2025. Katsuya Shigehara (unit director on Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine) directs, with Takeharu Sakurai (Kurogane no Submarine, The Scarlet Bullet and more Conan movies) on the script.
