A ghoulish new crossover heads to Dead by Daylight with the upcoming addition of Tokyo Ghoul. Behaviour Interactive partnered with the Tokyo Ghoul Production Committee to bring Ken Kaneki to the asymmetrical survival game, with the crossover set to launch on April 2.

The fact that the committee was directly involved—as detailed over at the PlayStation Blog—is an important distinction. That’s because they had to reimagine Kaneki for the purposes of his inclusion in the game. This version finds Kaneki bereft of the humanity he fought to retain, now emerging in The Entity’s Realm with a desire for cruelty and punishment.

This desire manifests in his Kagune abilities, deadly tentacles that erupt from his back. According to the blog post, they had to change his moral compass to suit his role as a Killer. The post goes on to note that the committee was “on board with the story we wanted to tell, sharing our excitement to see this terrifying take on their protagonist.”
This new take on Ken Kaneki also comes with original voice lines from Tokyo Ghoul anime VA Natsuki Hanae.

In addition to the new Killer, the crossover will feature new outfits—including the Awakened Ghoul Outfit for Ken Kaneki, Eto Costume Outfit for Nea Karlsson, Hide Costume Outfit for Renato Lyra, Rabbit Costume Outfit for Yui Kimura and Rize Kamishiro Outfit for Ken Kaneki—as well as Masks and more.
Based on the manga by Sui Ishida, the Tokyo Ghoul anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll, describing the series like so:
Haise Sasaki has been tasked with teaching Qs Squad how to be outstanding investigators, but his assignment is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his students and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. Can he pull them together as a team, or will Qs Squad first assignment be their last?
