The official website for the trilogy anime film project that continues the stories of the Medicine Seller from the 2006 Mononoke TV anime announced today that its third and final chapter, subtitled “Hebigami” (literally means “Snake God”) is set to releases in the spring of 2026.
Following the first and second chapters, the third chapter of the story takes place in Ooku, the women’s quarters of Edo Castle in the Edo Period of Japan, and the Medicine Seller confronts Hebigami. A teaser visual featuring him has been released.

The TV anime Mononoke aired in Japan for 12 episodes from July to September 2007. The first part of the trilogy film series, Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain released on July 26, 2024, then the second part Mononoke the Movie: The Ashes of Rage followed today on Mach 14, 2025.
