Aniplex Inc. and Crunchyroll announced today that they have jointly invested in and established HAYATE Inc., an anime production business focused on planning, developing, and producing anime content for the Crunchyroll streaming service globally.
The joint venture’s staff, which will include employees from Aniplex and Crunchyroll, is led by Masanori Miyaki, chairman and CEO, and Leo Watanabe, president and COO, both from the Aniplex team.
The establishment of HAYATE, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, promises “premium content for anime fans worldwide using Aniplex’s production know-how cultivated over the years through its partnerships with a wide range of creators and studios, and Crunchyroll’s development, marketing, and distribution capabilities built upon its strong ties to the anime community and passionate fandom.,” per the official press release.
The announcement marks a continued investment by Aniplex and Crunchyroll in bringing new anime content to fans worldwide.
