After 25 episodes of match-points and match-making, the official accounts for the Blue Box anime announced that a second season is officially in production. A release date was not confirmed at the time of reporting, but a short video featuring key events from the sports romance series so far and a commemorative illustration by character designer Miho Tanino was shared with the announcement.
The latter also celebrates author Koji Miura’s birthday.

Based on the manga by Koji Miura, Yuichiro Yano (LUPIN THE 3rd PART 5) directed the first season of Blue Box at studio Telecom Animation Film, with series composition by Yuko Kakihara (The Apothecary Diaries), character designs by Miho Tanino (Tower of God) and music by Takashi Omama (Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury). Netflix streamed the series as it premiered in Japan.
VIZ Media publishes an official English version of the manga and describes the story:
