Ahead of an April 5 broadcast and simulcast on Crunchyroll, the Black Butler -Emerald Witch Arc- stage event at AnimeJapan 2025 today released a new main trailer highlighting the latest series’ ending song, “WALTZ” by RYUGUJO, and opening song, “MAISIE” by rock band Cö shu Nie.

Kenjiro Okada (March comes in like a lion chief director) continues to direct for the latest Black Butler anime at studio CloverWorks, with series composition by Hiroyuki Yoshino (World Trigger), character designs by Yumi Shimizu (Horimiya chief animation director). Maaya Sakamoto and Daisuke Ono reprise their roles as Ciel Phantomhive and Sebastian Michaelis, respectively.
The original Black Butler manga by Yana Toboso began in 2006 in Square Enix’s G Monthly GFantasy manga magazine, with 34 volumes released in Japan to date. An English language version is also available from Yen Press. Crunchyroll streams the full series to date and describes the story:
Ciel Phantomhive is the most powerful boy in all of England, but he bears the scars of unspeakable suffering. Forced to watch as his beloved parents were brutally murdered, Ciel was subsequently abducted and violently tortured.
