Ninku, a TV anime based on the shonen action manga by Koji Kiriyama, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and the festivities kick off with a new piece of art and a special logo illustrated by series character designer Tetsuya Nishio. Character goods celebrating the anniversary will also be sold through Studio Pierrot’s online store.

Shueisha serialized the original Ninku manga from June 1993 – September 1995 in their Weekly Shonen Jump manga magazine, and the series was also published in nine collected volumes in Japan. Noriyuki Abe directed the Ninku TV anime at Studio Pierrot. The series broadcast for 55 episodes from January 1995 – February 1996 on the Fuji TV network.
The story of Ninku follows a group of special forces operatives that wield powerful martial arts called “ninku” who must try to survive years after the war that called upon their talents ended in their defeat.
