The upcoming anime adaptation of The Beginning After the End will follow a powerful warrior through two different lifetimes. Ahead of the April 2 premiere, creditless versions of the show’s opening and ending sequences show us both the young Arthur Leywin and his past self, King Grey.

Keitaro Motonaga (The Kingdoms of Ruin) directs The Beginning After the End at studio A-CAT, with Takamitsu Kono (A Returner’s Magic Should Be Special) on series composition, Masami Sueoka (The Strongest Magician in the Demon Lord’s Army was a Human) on character designs and Keiji Inai (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) on music.
The series is based on the web novel of the same name by TurtleMe. Both the ongoing web novel and its comic adaptation are available to read on Tapas.
Crunchyroll is slated to simulcast the series and describes the story as such:
After a mysterious death, King Grey is reborn as Arthur Leywin on the magical continent of Dicathen. Although he enters his second life as a baby, his previous wisdom remains. He begins to master magic and forge his own path as the years go by, seeking to correct the mistakes of his past life.
