The official X (formerly Twitter) for GeGeGe no Kitaro: My Favorite GeGeGe Generation, an upcoming TV program to air selected episodes from past GeGeGe no Kitaro TV anime series, announced that enka singer Kiyoshi Hikawa will sing the ending theme song “Party of Monsters” for the program.
The song will be released under the unit name “Hikawa Kiyoshi with t.komuro.” J-pop artist and producer Tetsuya Komuro (TM Network, glove) serves as director by request from Hikawa.

CD jacket
This is the third time Hikawa has performed a theme song for the GeGeGe no Kitaro anime series: First was the opening theme “GeGeGe no Kitaro” for the TV anime’s sixth season in 2018-2020, followed by the third ending theme “Mienkeredomo Orundayo” for the same season.
“I am very happy to get the offer for the ending theme again this time,” said Hikawa. “I am also very happy that Tetsuya Komuro, who gave us the power to live in our youth, has written, composed and arranged the song. I hope that many people will listen to ‘Party of Monsters.’ Now that the recording is finished, I am really looking forward to the broadcast, but when I first received the demo tape, I was very anxious and weak about whether I would be able to sing. But on the other hand, it is important to challenge something that has never been done before, so I just wanted to enjoy it to the fullest. I think the music video is also very interesting. I hope to convey many things in this song, including questions to the world. Thank you very much, Komuro-san.”
Komuro also said in a statement, “‘Are you sure you want me to do this?’ I may have asked so Kiina (Hikawa) many times. After seeing him, I wondered where his strength was coming from, and I was amazed that he had lived so straight like this. He has a talent for making me feel that I would be too rude not to offer him all I can. I, too, felt that I was competing with creators who have a lot of momentum today, so I tried something quite new while retaining his individuality. I hope this will become Kiina’s masterpiece.”
“Party of Monsters” will release digitally first on April 6, then the CD single will follow on June 4.
