Yesterday, Webtoon fans got a real treat. BOCCHI THE ROCK! and WIND BREAKER studio CloverWorks brought to life not one, but two hit titles from the popular web comic platform. Each short film clocks in at about 10 minutes and features a full voice cast.
First up is 7FATES: CHAKHO, written and directed by Shin Wakabayashi (WONDER EGG PRIORITY). Embedding is currently disabled but you can see the video here.
HYBE created the original Webtoon series, described thus:
In the corrupt city of Sin-si, Zeha suddenly wakes up in a hospital, unable to recall anything that happened after speaking with a mysterious man one night. He soon learns that strange beings called beom are wreaking havoc on the city. As destiny brings seven boys together, will they succeed in ending this fight, once and for all? Let the hunting begin!
Chiaki Sakurai (One-Punch Man) directs the second of the two short films, THE STAR SEEKERS. This one has also disabled embedding, so you’ll have to check the full video out on YouTube.
The original Webtoon is also by HYBE, and is a collaboration with K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Webtoon describes the original series:
