Ahead of a July 6, 2025 broadcast, the official accounts for CITY THE ANIMATION today announced the casting of Yuko Goto (Georgie in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) as Sumiresakurakomi Tanabe and Jin Domon (Various Roles in Nichijou – My Ordinary Life) as the Tanabe family butler, Hotaka. A third concept visual was also unveiled, titled “GOD GRAFFITI.”

Based on the manga by Keiichi Arawi, Tachi Ishidate (Violet Evergarden) directs CITY THE ANIMATION at studio Kyoto Animation, with character designs/chief animation direction by Tamami Tokuyama (Sound! Euphonium animation director) and art direction by Shiori Yamazaki. Instrumental band Piranhans provides the music.
