The official website for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Tomoki Izumi’s horror manga series Mieruko-chan released a new “Can’t See” version trailer today. The original Japanese title can be translated to “The Girl Who Can See Them,” which refers to the protagonist Miko Yotsuya, who can see ghosts.
For those who do not like scary images, the “scary things” that were shown in the original trailer are hidden from viewers in this “Can’t See” version trailer.

Additionally, the site shows off photos from the shoot. In one of them, Nanoha Hara (who plays Miko) and Rinka Kumada (who plays Hana) are standing side by side against a blackboard with a cute illustration by the original manga author, Tomoki Izumi.

The live-action film Mieruko-chan is set to release in Japan on June 6, 2025. Yoshihiro Nakamura (Shinobi no Kuni) serves as director and writes the screenplay, and Nanoka Hara (Suzume Iwato in Suzume) is cast as the protagonist, Miko Yotsuya. The other main cast members include Rinka Kumada as Hana Yurikawa, Naenao as Yuria Niguredo, Koki Yamashita as Akio Gondo, and Taiga Kyomoto as Zen Tohno.
The original Mieruko-chan manga is serialized in the ComicWalker (now KadoComi) website since 2018, releasing 12 tankobon volumes in Japan to date. It has been viewed more than 85 million times on the site, printing over three million copies in Japan. Yen Press releasing the manga in English.
The TV anime adaptation of the Mieruko-chan manga aired for 12 episodes from October to December 2021. All the episodes are available on Crunchyroll, who describes the series:
