Going to the movies should be an enjoyable experience for everyone, which means minding our manners at the theater. In advance of its August premiere in Japan, Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- is ensuring its viewers do just that with a pre-movie “manners” video.
The short features the characters Rise Azumino and Alice instructing an unruly deck of cards in theater etiquette. Of course, the Cheshire Cat pops in to have a word as well:
Fushigi no Kuni de Alice to -Dive in Wonderland- will open in Japan on August 29, 2025. This is the first theatrical anime movie in Japan inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland novel, originally published in 1865.
Toshiya Shinohara (The aquatope on white sand) serves as director on a screenplay by Yuko Kakihara (Dragon Ball DAIMA series composition writer) with P.A. WORKS handling the anime production.
The synopsis reads (translated):
“I’m supposed to be reading the atmosphere to not fail and I’m doing what everyone else is doing, so why can’t I get it right――?”
Rise Azumino is a university student who has lost in her life. One day, guided by an invitation letter left behind by her late grandmother, she enters “Wonderland”. She meets a girl named Alice there and they travel together.
White Rabbit, Caterpillar, Queen of Hearts, Card Soldiers, Mad Hatter, March Hare, Humpty Dumpty, Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee who are twins, Cheshire Cat and… The residents of Wonderland appear before Rise one after another! And the crazy commotion that ensues!
What kind of future will Rise choose in this crazy adventure with Alice?
