The official X (formerly Twitter) for voice actor agency HiBiKi announced on April 22 that voice actor Rimi Nishimoto will cancel her appearance at the upcoming stage play Assault Lily Sturm: Sanngrídr-hen.
The stage play is scheduled to perform at Kameari Lirio Hall in Tokyo from April 25 to 30. She planned to reprise her role in the anime, Fumi Futagawa. The stage play’s official website announced on the same day that Shizuku Kakuda will take her role.
Nishimoto made her voice acting debut in 2015 and her well-known characters include Rimi Ushigome in BanG Dream! and Fumi Futagawa in Assault Lily BOUQUET.
As previously reported, she announced that she had Graves’ disease on November 4, 2023. Since then, she has continued to treat her chronic illness while limiting her activities. However, due to her continued poor health, after careful consultations with medical institutions and other relevant parties, the agency has decided to cancel her appearance at the stage play.
She wrote on her official X: “I am very sorry that I had to step down from the play. I had been rehearsing until the very last minute and tried to hang on, but a stage is something that is created by everyone, and it was not my intention to inconvenience those around me due to my own health condition,” and “It is truly regrettable that this is the first announcement I have to make at this time, as we have just celebrated the 10th anniversary, and it is truly painful to think of all of you who have been supporting us. I hope that you will give me a little time so that I will be able to fight again as the Lily of my beloved Assault Lily, with whom I have lived with for so long.”
