The official website and accounts for the upcoming Mechanical Marie anime today unveiled the rom-com series’ first teaser trailer and visual, with the former revealing two key cast members and a planned Fall 2025 broadcast. Nao Toyama (Hiro in A Couple of Cuckoos) stars as the titular Marie and Haruki Ishiya (Abel in Saint Cecilia & Pastor Lawrence) stars as Arthur.

Based on the manga by Aki Akimoto, Junji Nishimura (The Fire Hunter) directs Mechanical Marie at studios Zero-G and Liber, with series composition by Mariko Kunisawa (BARTENDER Glass of God), character designs by Yoko Kikuchi (Twilight Out of Focus) and music by Yasuharu Takanashi (Fairy Tail) and Johannes Nilsson (Gushing over Magical Girls).
Yen Press publishes an official English version of the manga and describes the story:
He was a boy. She was a robot. Well…not really. In all actuality, Marie is completely totally 100% human, but because her strange new employer seemingly despises humans, the powers-that-be are paying a handsome sum for her to pretend she’s the latest and greatest android while protecting said eccentric master from the seemingly endless attempts on his life. Which is fine, but, they forgot to mention one tiny seemingly insignificant detail-this dude absolutely dotes on inanimate objects like Marie can’t believe. She’s not sure what will kill her first, the assassins or his affections…?
