Crunchyroll and Aniplex of America announced today that Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train will re-release theatrically in the United States and Canada starting May 14, with select international regions also releasing the movie starting the same day. The Mugen Train re-release will newly debut in 4K and be available both in Japanese with English subtitles and an English dub. Tickets for United States and Canada screenings will go on sale starting April 30 (please check local listings).
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train was originally released in Japan in October 2020. It went on to become the highest-grossing movie in Japan of all time with over 40 billion yen at the Japanese box office, and also became the highest-grossing Japanese film at the global box office with over $500 million worldwide. Haruo Sotozaki directed the movie at studio ufotable, with Akira Matsushima as Chief Animation Director and character designer, and music by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina.
Crunchyroll currently streams the entirety of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series, including the Mugen Train film and the seven-episode Mugen Train Arc. The upcoming Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle movie is scheduled to release in September in the United States and Canada.
