Childhood friendship turns into something more in the upcoming anime adaptation of Kazune Kawahara’s A Star Brighter than the Sun manga, which got its first trailer and visual tonight, as well as details on the main staff and cast. Alongside the trailer, the series also announced that it will premiere this October.

Aya Kobayashi (My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 episode director) directs A Star Brighter than the Sun at Studio KAI with Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) writing the series composition, Zeng Jinfeng drawing the character designs and Tabuchi Natsumi and Sakurai Miki composing the music.
Kazune Kawahara’s A Star Brighter than the Sun manga is currently serialized in Bessatsu Margaret, with ten collected volumes released in Japan. VIZ Media released the first volume in English on March 4, describing the romance series as such:
Sae and Koki have been friends since childhood. One fateful day at the end of middle school, she has a revelation: Koki has grown up! Now they’re in high school, and she has another revelation: she has feelings for Koki! But Sae isn’t the only girl who does… The question is, who does Koki have feelings for?!
