Crunchyroll announced during Sony Group Corporation’s CES 2025 press conference today that an anime series based on Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima video game and its Ghost of Tsushima: Legends multiplayer experience is officially in production. The anime will exclusively premiere on Crunchyroll in 2027.Takanobu Mizuno (Star Wars: Visions "The Duel") will direct the series at Kamikaze Douga, with Gen Urobuchi writing the story composition. The anime will be produced in collaboration with Aniplex, with Sony Music serving as music and soundtrack partner.

Crunchyroll announced today during Sony Group Corporation’s CES 2025 press conference that a new digital manga application will join the service as a premium add-on, slated to launch later in 2025. The app will launch as a standalone, called Crunchyroll Manga, on iOS and Android with web browser support planned for the future. The Crunchyroll Anime Awards will return to Japan once more as the ninth annual event is scheduled to open in Tokyo at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa on May 25, 2025, accompanied by an official livestream. Announced during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at CCXP, the event will also update its eligibility period for qualified anime to include those released between October 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, encompassing of five anime seasons.
