Yaiba: Samurai Legend

Ahead of an April 5 broadcast debut, the official anime website and accounts for Yaiba: Samurai Legend today announced the casting of Isshin Chiba (Chiba in Case Closed) as Kagetora, continuing the voice actor overlap between author Gosho Aoyama's creations, and Kosuke Echigoya as Shonosuke.Kagetora / Isshin ChibaShonosuke / Kosuke EchigoyaBased on the Gosho Aoyama manga that ran from 1988 to 1993, Takahiro Hasui (Mob Psycho III) directs the Yaiba anime remake at WIT Studio, with series composition by Toko Machida (Kemono Michi: Rise Up), character designs and chief animation direction by Yoshimichi Kameda (Mob Psycho 100) and music by Yutaka Yamada (VINLAND SAGA) and Yoshiaki Dewa (Hell's Paradise).The official website's introduction section describes the story of Yaiba:The protagonist, Yaiba (Kurogane Yaiba), is a wild samurai boy who trains in the jungle with his father, Kenjuro!

The new Yaiba: Samurai Legend anime is based on the manga by Detective Conan / Case Closed author Gosho Aoyama, so it's only fitting that the two series broadcast side-by-side. A premiere date of April 5, 2025 was announced for the new anime, putting it in the 5:30 p.m. Saturday timeslot just ahead of Detective Conan's 6:00 p.m.

Yaiba: Samurai Legend, an upcoming TV anime based on the manga by Gosho Aoyama (Case Closed), has revealed a new teaser trailer (below) as well as two additional cast members.
